LMK Solutions completed a wireless network bridge installation for Uni-Fly at Humberside Airport, linking the main building with a newly built departure lounge.
Connecting two buildings without trenching
The project used a dedicated point-to-point wireless link to carry the network between the buildings. This avoided the disruption and cost of installing a new underground data cable while still providing a fast, stable connection between the two locations.
Structured cabling in the new lounge
We also installed structured network cabling in the new departure lounge to support wired devices, Wi-Fi and office systems. The wireless bridge provides the building-to-building link, while the local cabling distributes the connection where it is needed.
Where wireless bridges are useful
Point-to-point links can be a practical solution for offices, workshops, outbuildings, yards and other sites where two locations have clear line of sight but installing fibre or copper between them would be difficult or disruptive.
